The Rt. Rev. Keith L. Ackerman, President of FIFNA

Bp. Ackerman was born in McKeesport, PA in 1946. He and Joann married in 1967 and they have three children and three grandchildren. He was ordained in 1974 at Nashotah House. He has served parishes in New York, Pennsylvania, Kansas, and Texas before being elected as the Eighth Bishop of Quincy (IL) from 1994 until his retirement in 2008. He has been a member of FIFNA since its inception in 1989 and is their current President. Bp. Ackerman serves on the Prayer Book and Liturgy Task Force and is a member of ACNA's Archbishop's Cabinet and College of Bishops. He is the author of numerous articles and books, including To God be the Glory, co-authored with his wife. Bp. Ackerman and Jo own Dove Tracts and have just acquired Parish Press (www.theparishpress.com). Having just completed a set of DVD's (Instructed Eucharist for Children, Instructed Eucharist for Adults, Introduction to the Book of Common Prayer, and Praying the Daily Office), he is currently gathering data for his next book entitled, Dies Irae: An Analysis of Death and Dying in Traditional Institutions. Residing in Keller, TX, he is close to his family where he enjoys his role as "Dad" and "PaPa". Bp. Ackerman enjoys family-oriented activities, baseball and music. He speaks several languages including Spanish, Italian, French, and Swedish. He is currently serving as Interim Rector at St. Timothy's in Fort Worth, TX and as a therapist in the Pastoral Counseling Department at Central Dallas Ministries where most of his therapy to homeless or under-employed persons is done in Spanish.

The Shrine Hotel is a two-story with elevators.  The rooms have 2 queen size beds, coffeemaker, iron, and hair dryer.   For more information, go to their website at  www.snows.org.  A continental breakfast is included in the hotel rate.  Please note that Our Lady of the Snows is a non-smoking facility.
